This Weekend

I hope you all had a great week!
For some reason this week felt WAY longer then just a handful of days – you too? It was a busy one at work and I’m crazy excited to switch gears to one of a slower pace over the holidays. Apparently we’re in for some snow this weekend and I couldn’t be happier. It’s been freezing outside and with no snow to show for it – well, that’s just not right. W and I are headed out with friends to chop down our own tree this weekend!  I’m going all smiles just thinking about it because it’ll be a first time for me.  W suggested we put up a real tree last year and it took us (me) an hour to pick out “the perfect tree”.  Now, don’t judge – I wasn’t looking for perfection, but more the one that felt just right. Am I the only one who does this? Maybe it’s a newbie thing considering I grew up with a fake tree.  Whatever it was I’m kinda hoping it sticks. Slowing down time – now, that sounds perfect for the holidays.

Here are some fun weekend ideas to “snow” your boat:

Have you checked out (the first ever) Blogger Fashion Week hosted by Trend Trunk yet? The site has over 70 Canadian bloggers featured, and s e t t i n g SAIL is being featured TODAY! Be sure to check it out,  The event includes a feature on a group of bloggers, their online closets (available for purchasing) and more (*scroll down). And did you know – they’re based out of Hamilton! #supportlocal

I know I’m not alone when I say that I love to pick up various usable items for our place. If you’re like me then you’re probably well aquainted with the brand Umbra already.  This weekend, there’s an Umbra Factory Sale happening! Check out the deets here. I’m hoping to find some stuff for the house and maybe for the one or two “I have everything” folks on my list.

It’s Winter Madness at IKEA and tonight is their midnight madness sale. I demo-ed this sale when we moved into our place (almost) 2 years ago. Are you headed there to buy presents for your home?

Also, on my DIY list, I’m hoping to put together all of our outdoor decor (fingers crossed, I’m hoping to share next week), and sew some ornaments to add to our tree like this. I have a great DIY gift wrap idea that I’ll also be sharing with you next week. See you Monday!

Thanks, so much, for reading!
Whatever you find yourself up to this weekend, I hope you have a good one!
