Gray Days

.
When it came to painting our place two years ago (!?!) when we first moved in, I somehow convinced W to allow me to paint virtually every wall in our place different shades of gray.  In my eyes it seemed like the only logical colour choice after staining the floors a dark walnut and painting all of the trim in stark white. I find a certain ironic beauty in gray, a subtle bluntness that I believe to be fascinating. Perhaps it’s the contradiction of cold versus soft, and masculine versus feminine (especially when paired with colour).  The more recent trend towards gray “neutral” interiors has left me shocked at how easily the colour seems to pair with most any genre of decor.  And then there’s the flow of gray textures paired together that just seem to work so much more easily then its beige competitor.  Are you on the gray train?

I’m not sure if it’s the weather that’s especially bringing it out, but I’m especially turning to my love of gray as of late.  I’m so inspired by gray these days that yesterday I even wore my new favourite sweater (thanks Dad) with my go-to leggings (in gray, of course) to work  for a completely monotone look.
Obsessed you ask? Ok, you got me 😉

Happy TuesBrrrrsday! Keep warm!
