This Weekend

Wow! I am so excited that the long weekend is here! It’s been a wild week at home after waking up to a leaking roof, a lake in our backyard and a wet basement on Tuesday morning before work.  It’s like our house really wanted to get some attention or it sensed our talks of what project to tackle next.  On the upside this sudden hick-up will accelerate our efforts to amp up the curb appeal of our place with a fresh look.  Anyone switched to black eavestroughing lately?

That being said, I’m really looking forward to the long weekend. While W’s away at a bachelor party weekend festivity, I’m stoked for some catch-up time with family and some girl-friends on top of a weekend of shopping, sewing (fingers crossed), relaxing and chilling outside. Here’s hoping the same, and then some, for you too!

Here are your LONG WEEKEND links:

Check out this gorgeous loft from Apartment 34. Love!

I absolutely adore this post – it made me smile and think… yeah.

This simple, (yet bold to the neutral colour sport-er in me) outfit tip has got me thinking about what I’ve got in the back of my closet from last summer. Would you wear this pairing?

SHOPPING: If you’re like me and love a steal you best check out the 40% off sale at Tory Burch, the 25% off online sale at Joe Fresh (code: victoria25), the Tibi 25% off Friends and Family sale online (code Friends25), and the NastyGal BBQT sale among others. Now go!

I really enjoyed this post from Domino voicing 26 great design blogs.

We’re headed to our first wedding of the season in a few weeks and I’m scrambling for an outfit idea. I like the idea of pairing a neutral heel with a bold clutch and textured dress like in this post.  What’s your approach to dressing for spring weddings?

Yum – I need to munch on this dip stat! Perfect to whip up when running out the door for long weekend festivities indeed! I’m also eyeing this sweet treat that Sarah’s shared too.

Lastly, in consideration of the Victoria/Memorial Day weekend marking the start of the “patio” season, I’m excited to break out the deck chairs and get some outdoor inspiration from this Apartment Therapy post and Threshold Spring Catalogue.

Here’s hoping you have a wonderful long weekend all!
Thanks for reading!
