Each time I stop and think about our front door the Stones start playing in my head and I have “I see a red door and I want to paint it black” on repeat for the next week. When we purchased the home we always knew that we would be making changes to the exterior paint colours to modernize the house’s curb appeal and better reflect our style. Now that the new roof is up (full details of our adventure re-shinging our home solo here) dawning pewter gray shingles the transition is in full swing.
Majority of our exterior is a light sandy-coloured brick with white trim and window frames. Our front door and window shingles are presently a rusty-red colour with a few wear chips. So when our roof was brown it kinda worked. Now that the roof is gray, well it’s certainly time to make a change.
Here are some inspiration pics that I’m hoping will give me the push to paint come some friendlier weather. I especially appreciate the windowed doors and how they avoided outlining the door windows in white. We have that presently with our front door and I’m planning to paint the window trim black as well to make the door appear more grand. Thoughts?
What colour is your front door?
Have you also made the switch to black and white accents?
