With the amazing switch to summer-like weather, patio season is here!
When Walt and I moved into our home, one of the first spaces we were eager to renovate was our backyard patio and deck space. We’re both big fans of making the most of being outside and enjoying the good weather, especially during the Canadian summer season. When planning, we knew that we wanted to create a space where we could both host a large group, but could also provide a more intimate and relaxing environment for those quieter nights.
Before making any big purchases, I did a lot of research and shopping around for inspiration at stores like Home Hardware. First, I defined our goal for the space and how I envisioned us spending time in that part of our home. Since we love to entertain, I knew that a large dining space was a must. I also wanted to make sure we had an area where we could sit out back together with our morning coffees and look out on the backyard. The planning had begun!
Next, I got to work planning our space by brainstorming what we would need to make the space work. We settled on a 6 piece dining set, with cushions for our dining space and are continuing to building upon our two Muskoka chair lounge area. I’ve got my eye on this set by Home Hardware to add to our lounge space. I love how it boasts of a more modern, and clean-lined style.
Stay tuned for our backyard reveal post and in the mean time you can catch a glimpse of our backyard space in this past post on “Entertaining 101: Hosting a Girls’ Night Dinner Party“. Thanks for visiting!
